Bio
Linda Wright has been a part of the Pahrump Community for over 15 years. She is the widow of an Army Veteran and has 1 son and 4 grandchildren.
She has been very active in our community almost since day one!
Linda is very involved with the DAV & VFW. and is a lifetime member of both Auxiliaries. In 2018-2019 she was VFW Auxiliary State President. Linda received the Circle of Excellence Award from the National VFW Auxiliary for her & the States achievements during her year as State President.
Linda helped to establish the VFW Veterans Food pantry, the Food Securities Committee. and has been in the Ameri-corps program. She also volunteered on several Nye Community Coalition committees, Stand for Children, Hope Committee, Hope Run, Holiday Task Force, Food Securities, and Transportation. She was also a part of Relay for Life and was in the Ms. Senior Nye County Pageant and in 2023 Ms. Sr Golden Year was Ms. Congeniality.
Linda has been a part of RAM for 3 yrs. and the Lead Volunteer at the Pahrump VA Clinic, member of the Veterans Finance Committee, VFW USO Chairman and Veterans Stand Down Chairman.
Currently Linda is Chairman for the Pahrump Holiday Task Force, Chairman of the TWV (Together with Veterans: a Rural Suicide Prevention committee) the secretary & member of Heritage Bible Church & Children's Ministry Chair, Soroptimist member and Sleep In Heavenly Peace member. She is also a Nevada Veterans Advocate.
Linda has received an award from the governor, congressmen, senators for her work with Veterans and Suicide Prevention.
The Act of Kindness award for Community Work.
Linda is making a difference by advocating for her Veterans and by bringing the Community together throughout the year.
In her spare time Linda enjoys cooking, antiquing, traveling, and collecting Carousel Horses. She is also a baker and decorates cakes (wedding, birthday, sugar-free).
Linda's overseas tour was Korea and she served in various capacities such as Administrative, Finance, training, and postal. She had additional assignments that include South Carolina, Washington, California and Hawaii before moving to Pahrump, NV.
Linda joined the Disabled American Veteran (DAV) as a Life Member immediately upon retirement in 2003 and relocated to Pahrump, Nevada in 2008.
She is a native of South Carolina with two children.
Currently Linda is a member of Chosen Vessel Church as the secretary, and serves her community as a volunteer in various capacities; the Salvation Army Veterans program, Martin Luther King Foundation Secretary, DAV Department of Nevada Past Department Commander, Department Chaplain, Department Women Chair, Department Assistant Webmaster, and Department Homeless Coordinator.
