It's always good to stay ahead of things to avoid unexpected mistakes. VA.gov, the VA: Health and Benefits mobile app, will need to sign in with either a Login.gov or ID.me account. Just take a moment and visit Login.gov or ID.me to create a login. This will give you an opportunity to become familiar with the login process before the actual changes occur.
Now if you might think to yourself that you have already signed up at either Login.gov or ID.me and have just not used your account in a while, it's always smart to still visit your account and make sure you still have access. This gives you an opportunity to change your password for added security.
I'm sure that there will be a few stragglers who miss the deadline to sign up for Login.gov or ID.me . You have nothing to worry about; you won’t lose any stored information. It's important as well that you remember you can always manage your VA benefits and health care by phone, mail, or in person. The catch is that you still need to create your Login.gov or ID.me account to access your information and manage your benefits and care online again. |
