Sterling joined DAV Chapter 15 in November of 2016. He felt felt it was the best Veteran’s organization to be a part of. "Rip" has always been a champion of the Veteran. He is a retired 23-year Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force.
After his time in the USAF, he became a GS-11 Civil Service worker and then became a civilian contractor for the USAF on the Tonopah Test and Training Range for 22 years before retiring in 2009.
He was asked numerous times to become an officer of the DAV Chapter 15 but never felt it was right to be an absent officer, due to his wife and himself traveling life style at that time.
Since that time, Things have changed with their lifestyle and he is proud to have been elected an officer of Chapter 15. "Rip" is here to help Veterans and/or their Veteran’s family in any way that he possibly can. He also enjoys the
reading of a good book with his dogs.
