LIFE AS AN MST SURVIVOR - SOLUTIONS

Welcome to our final segment of our article on "Life As An MST Survivor - Solutions".  We will begin a transition SOLUTIONS for MST.  All the other segments were valuable important but solutions are the most important.

INTERACTIVE SOCIAL COMMUNICATIONS IS VITAL
THINGS ARE NOT ALWAYS AS THEY APPEAR   |  A PRACTICAL & PRODUCTIVE APPROACH

Interactive Social Communication Is Vital

"Interactive social communication is vital to make progress with both PTSD trauma from MST. "

You may not be aware of this, but the average human brain has an abundance of social neurons.  These neurons serve as filters which allow us to identify when, how and with whom to react.
When you socially interact with others each day, everyone is influenced from that interaction. When others around you laugh, the interaction with others stimulates you to feel good and possibly laugh as well.

  Things Are Not
Always As They Appear

"PTSD, the result of MST, has been found to cause an MST survivor. to become reticent or act quite unexpectedly different; to put a mask on their emotion."
For a victim of a traumatic MST experience, their emotional response to various forms of social stimulation can tend to be unexpected. What causes most people to laugh, instead may serve as a trigger to cause an unintentional aggressive response to occur. For others, they simply become more reticent or restrained in their reaction.
It is important to consider the fact that an MST survivor, can some times not be fully responsible for their actions. For many, they have put up a wall to protect themselves from the traumatic experience they have endured. The normal flow of social neurons in their brains doesn't allow them to recognize and respond effectively.

VA Recovery Groups Provide
New Hope
"

"There is nothing more powerful than hearing the experience of others, just as they hear of your own.  This provides the catalyst to realize you are not alone."
Same as the foundational idea of Alcoholics Anonymous or similar groups, in a PTSD / MST group you are with others who are also victims like yourself and one begins to realize you are not alone. Interactive social communication begins to flourish once again with others you form a bond of trust with, understand your experience.
The symptoms of an MST survivor can be managed more effectively with the assistance of the VA, Veterans Administration. The VA mental health professionals now have a much better  understanding of PTSD and MST Victim Treatment.  You specialists available who not only help MST survivors, but truly care.

A Practical and Productive Approach
A greater understanding what the problem is and best to live with it.
There is a practical and productive way to look upon any situation, physical / mental condition or just your current place in life. We can elect to see things with a negative inflection with our focus only on the things which we have discomfort with.
At the same time though, we can make the decision to look at reality and accept things for how they are, appreciate the good elements of our lives and learn from those that create discomfort.
Although there is no cure so to speak for MST survivors, by stepping up and taking command of your life, it can change it for the better while inspiring others to follow.
By striving to get the help you need, and making an honest effort to take each day, one at a time and living it as though it were your last, there is nothing to look forward to but a bright future in your life.  Each new day becomes invaluable and exciting to explore.  It's all a matter of choice.
